Irritant.. or Angel in Disguise?
"Do not forget or neglect or refuse to extend hospitality to strangers [in the brotherhood—being friendly, cordial, and gracious, sharing the comforts of your home and doing your part generously], for through it some have entertained angels without knowing it."- Hebrews 13:2 AMP
Have you ever been in the presence of someone you didn't know but needed your help? Has that help ever been given under less than favorable circumstances or you discover their personality was incompatible to your own? In life, we're sometimes ushered into situations that make us less than comfortable. The scriptures, however, encourage us to push past our comfort zones and extend grace to others during their time of need. God can sometimes be using these individuals as tests to our blessings. Take each opportunity to do good by others and extend the grace we so often call on God to extend to us.
Prayer for Today: Dear Lord, thank you for the presence of your angels. Please Lord, help me keep my heart open to serving those you bring into my midst. Help me to be sensitive to their needs, even in my most uncomfortable hour. Please help me to remember that in your most uncomfortable hour on the cross, you still bled to show your love for me. Help me to extend that same love to others. In Jesus' name. Amen.
