True Love

"4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;[b] 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ESV

"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out all fear."- 1 John 4:18 NIV

Love is incredibly beautiful. Have you ever pondered what it would be like to love someone fearlessly? What it would be like to not rely on the cyclic emotions of human nature that make us think we can only "love" someone when we "feel good." Jesus doesn't love us in a cyclic fashion; He loves us faithfully when we're good and even stronger when we're less than worthy. God's love through Christ can come to us in a "touchy-feel" way when He allows others into our presence to give us a warm embrace or a hand when we need. However, His love is not based in emotion, it's based in action. He is kind to us, patient with us, forgiving of our endless stupidity and disobedience. He doesn't rejoice when we make mistakes nor does He get angry when we share with others what we have. God's love through Christ should inspire us to love others in our midst with the same fearlessness, unbiased approach, and stability. 2014 is the year of true love. Are you willing to grab hold of it?

Prayer for Today: Dear Lord, thank you for the gift of divine love. Thank you for sending your Son, Jesus Christ as an eternal token of your love for me. Thank you for never leaving nor forsaking me and giving me a second chance through grace. Please Lord, show me daily how to love others you have placed in my life. Remove every fear, insecurity and root of rejection threatening to destroy the love you have placed in my life. Let my life be a fountain of love, that others may find You in me. In Jesus' name. Amen.
