The Right Time

"When Hathach told Mordecai what Esther had said, Mordecai sent her this message: “Don’t think that just because you live in the king’s house you’re the one Jew who will get out of this alive. If you persist in staying silent at a time like this, help and deliverance will arrive for the Jews from someplace else; but you and your family will be wiped out. Who knows? Maybe you were made queen for just such a time as this.”- Esther 4 MSG

There are moments in life when circumstances are calling us to do something. It could be the Spirit asking you to stand up for someone who is being bullied. Maybe you're down to the last $20 in your savings account and your heart is telling you to share 10 of it with someone in more dire straits. Even more challenging than deciphering how to act is knowing when. Can you afford to wait for a more convenient time before offering someone else what they need? Can you afford to miss a blessing simply because you're ignoring God's whisper of 'NOW?' Mordecai's words still ring true today, challenging us to not be afraid, but to make note of the time and take action.

Prayer for Today: Dear Lord, I hear your whispers on my heart. I hear you asking me to do something, but I am afraid. I second-guess your timing. Please help me to know that you never give me more than I can bear. Please remind me that your Word says you go before me, making crooked places straight. Please remind me that I am Your representative and all that I need to take action has already been given to me through Christ. In Jesus' name. Amen.
