Pressed Down, Shaken Together

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."- Luke 6:38 NIV

It's extremely unfortunate that we are living in a world comprised of people who are afraid to share what they have for fear they won't have enough for themselves. Even worse is when people don't share for fear they are helping someone else become better than themselves. This was the case with Saul. He helped David become part of his army and once David started to succeed, Saul wanted him dead. Sadly, Saul and many others who suffer from this ego-centered mentality, fail to realize anything we have comes directly from the Lord. Whether it's money, food, prestige, education, or influence, the Lord gives and takes all of it. And he makes it clear that only when you operate with an open heart, ready to help others, will you receive more than you already have. So go ahead; don't be afraid, share what you have and watch it multiply.

Prayer for Today: Dear Lord, thank You for being the God of more than enough. Thank You that your riches are available to all who are willing to seek of them. Please help me to operate with an open heart in everything that I do today. Please help me to share with others in whatever way I can. In Jesus' name. Amen.
